Torch Panel - Negative

I thought better : I just downloaded the report from their web site and all tests are confirmed NEGATIVE.

That's great news actually - so this is just a viral rash that will disappear in course of time.:-)))) Praise God!!

Hello World!

Welcome to the family. It has been a little over three months since you came in. And I created my first blog just 3 minutes ago. This is our secret orchard, just you and me. By the time you get to read this, we would have known each other so well and loved each other to infinity. I am sure you will like this blog - it is not just a chronology - it is what my heart speaks to you as you lie un harmed and un scathed in Ruth's womb.

The Story of your birth is a long one, so let's keep it to another post but here's what is happening today:

Apr 19th 2011 ( Tuesday)

Ruth is unwell. She had fever for over 10 days: for the first 7-8 days, her temperature touched 102 F every six hours. No anto biotics worked and her food intake went to an all time low. After numerous visits to Dr Sudha Reddy and Dr Radha ( Royal Hospital) and numerous phone conversations with Vaniamma ( vani avva for you:-)) , we decided to admit her at Vijaya on Saturday last.
Ruth woke up at around 9 in the morning and I was horrified to find rashes all over her body. For a moment I thought it was chicken pox..no..it looked like measles. Athai (Ruth's mom) had tears in her eyes. It was sheer shock for all of us. We decided to rush to Vijaya. At Vijaya, the gynaec referred us to the physician Dr Ganesan. He advised to stop all anti biotics and just take paracetamol. She was having 102F fever @ the hospital. She was exhausted.

We came back home and in a few hours the fever stopped. Yes, stopped completely. Ruth's appetite started growing too and she's taking ' paal sadham' with vergetables and pulses. The fever going away is a BIG relief to all of us.

Only on April 14th , did we go to Mediscan for the 12th week scan. For about an hour I kept eagerly peering into the sonologist's monitor seeing you swim and turn. I saw your kutty head, kutty neck and limbs. You look like a little lizard. But that was enough to make my heart leap with joy.
The report confirms that you are Ok except that you had a high normal heart rate during the scan which was because of the fever. That's not an issue.

So coming back to Saturday....Ruth and I sat in the front room. We were trying hard not to cry lest we release the flood gates but we're so upset and disappointed. We haven't slept properly in the last 10 days. Ruth wakes up with high fever in the middle of the nights....I keep jerking out of sleep worried about her and you. And to top it all the rashes appeared. Ruth hold her tummy in her hands - she asks God to keep the effects of virus and the medicine away from you. ' Yesappa' she says ' let the effects just go around my baby without getting into the uterus ' holding her covering the sides of her tummy with her palms.

I don't want to ask God ' why this ' and 'why us'. It is for a greater purpose. Something that is hidden far away from our natural thoughts and perception. Though my heart is crushed to pieces, it is steadfast as ever. Coz I know, He is in control. I am swinging between feelings of peace and anxious palpitaions. You need to be Ok. Your organs, your development, etc. you should be in His image, perfect and flawless. Lord let my kid be safe. I can bear anything , let me undergo whatever it is. Not my kid.

Sunday passed. At church, Pas Ben made the announcement and every body prayed for you and Ruth. A few friends came over to encourage me. One had typhoid in the first trimester and she showed me her daughter. Tears welled in my eyes.

The fever completely left by Sunday. Ruth is eating really well now...The rashes are still there.

18th April Monday: Went to Vijaya . Waited for almost 3 hours to see the physician. The blood report is normal except that the ESR is high. He's suggested a torch Panel test. Something to detect very high infection such as Rubella, etc which could be potentially harmful to you.

We gave the blood sample and got back home.
